Ex-teammates to discuss legacy plans in honour of Christian Atsu – Agyemang- Badu

Former Black Stars midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang- Badu has disclosed that he and other teammates of late Ghanaian winger Christian Atsu will meet to discuss the best way to honour their deceased colleague.

Atsu passed away after getting caught up in the devastating earthquakes that hit Turkey and Syria on Monday, February 6 that has claimed the lives of over 50,000 people.

The One Week Observation for the late Atsu was held at the Adjiringano Atsro Turf where it was announced the final funeral rites will be held on Friday, March 17 at the forecourt of Ghana’s State House.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with CITI Sports, Agyemang-Badu, who played with Atsu in three AFCON campaigns and the 2014 FIFA World Cup described Atsu as a “blessing to Ghana football” and added

“The footballers will have a meeting this week to see what we can do for our late brother and we can’t just do it alone, we need to collaborate with the family to tell us what we need to do and where we need to do certain things.”

Agyemang- Badu recently played for betPawa Ghana Premier League side Accra Great Olympics after spending a decade on the books of Serie A side Udinese.
