With the resolve of the Ghana Football Association to extensively involve fans in the final four games of the betpawa Premier League 2022/2023 season, The BAC Group rolled out the first ‘betpawa Premier League fan engagement’ at the Accra sports stadium on Saturday.

Accra Lions hosted Aduana Stars in a match day 31 crucial fixture, which ended 3-0 in favour of the home team, providing a cushion for their survival while denting a serious blow to the visitor’s title hopes.

The betpawa premier league fan engagement by the Ghana Football Association, powered by The Business Africa Consulting Group allowed fans to predict the correct scoreline between Accra Lions and Aduana Stars to win some amazing prizes.

Aduana Stars need points to remain top of the table at the end the weekend round of games but Accra Lions had other ideas as they put three goals past the 2017 champions to provide massive cushion for their survival hopes while blowing the title race wide open. Aduana Stars could end the weekend slipping from top spot if second-placed Medeama SC beat Hearts of Oak at the same venue on Sunday.

The betpawa Premier League fan agents recorded predictions from fans prior to kick-off at 6pm and only three from more than 400 predictions got the 3-0 scoreline correctly.

Aduana Stars fans walked away disappointed after the game, having expressed optimism about their chances prior to kickoff.

“l know it will be a very difficult game for Aduana Stars because we’re playing away from home but l trust the boys to finish Accra Lions by two goals to nil” according to Yeboah Wolloer Force

” l don’t want to talk much, it’s a straight win for Aduana, we need to beat them by 2 goals to 1″ Arbensee Mark alarms

Fans of Accra Lions predicted playing the role of kingmakers prior to kick-off.

“How can they come from Dormaa to score against us it’s impossible, we shall beat them by 1 goal to nil,” says confident Adomia Ashitay

” l trust our coach, we want to finish the league well, so l know the boys won’t misbehave,” says Aboutrika who predicted 2-0.

In all, Betpawa Premier League fan agents received more than four hundred prediction entries from fans expecting different outcomes. But just three fans namely; Jude Agbagba, David Essel, and Shabutu predicted correctly, a 3-0 scoreline in favour of Lions.

The winners were rewarded with home appliances including blenders, hair machines, pressing irons, etc.

The winners lauded the fan engagement initiative and expressed satisfaction and appreciation to the Ghana football association while asking for more.

” This is my blender, l now believe, the ‘Betpawa Premier League fan Engagement Drive’ is real,” says Shabutu.

” l thank GFA for this award, I’m very very happy. Jude Agbagba

” l always come to the stadium but has never been given anything. I’m very happy for the initiative of the GFA and Betpawa, I’m so excited” David Essel.

At the end of 90 minutes, it was Accra Lions fans that had every reason to rejoice after snatching all the three maximum points and bagging three goals through Salifu Apiiga 28’, Evans Botchway 74’, and Basit Seidu 82’ to make the title hope of league leaders Aduana Stars messy.
