Recently turned 32 year old Black Stars forward, Jordan Ayew, says breaking records is not something he looks forward to but rather to enjoy his time playing the sport.

He said this after helping Ghana’s Black Stars secure a spot at the 2023 AFCON in Cote D’Ivoire via a 2-1 win over Central African Republic (CAR) at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Ayew celebrated his 32nd birthday earlier today and is in line to make his 92nd appearance for the Black Stars should he feature in a friendly game against Liberia on Tuesday, September 12 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Crystal Palace player is tied for fourth with John Paintsil as the most capped Black Stars player with 91 appearances but enjoying his play on the pitch is more important than breaking records according to the veteran player.

“It’s a positive thing and I just want to thank all the managers that were here in the past and even now and I keep going because I still have a lot of years ahead of me. I don’t think about breaking records. I just think of keep playing my football, enjoying my football and putting in performances.”

Jordan Ayew has started the EPL season in fine form as he has three assists in five games for Palace and was named the Team’s Player of the Month in August.
