Queens Park Rangers manager Gareth Ainsworth has voiced his displeasure over Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu Issahaku’s antics that led to the dismissal of his player Andre Dozell.

Ainsworth said this in a post game interview after watching his side lose 1-2 to Leicester City in the Sky Bet English Championship.

The win gives Leicester City 13 wins in 14 league outings this season and keeps the Foxes in pole position for a quick return to the English Premier League.

Issahaku went on a dizzying run but was brought down hard and reacted by shoving Dozell who retaliated with a shove leading to a second yellow card for the Rangers midfielder and a yellow card for Issahaku.

At the time of the dismissal, the score was tied at 1-1 but a Harry Winks goal in the 80th minute gave Leicester the win.

Speaking after the game, Ainsworth wasn’t impressed with Issahaku’s role in Dozell’s dismissal saying,

“Naivety has cost us. It was a plan we put in place which I think was working. But you need 11 men against top of the league with a Premier League side against you. There wasn’t much in the game until Andre falls for the trick of gamesmanship by Fatawu. I think we have to learn from that.”

“It’s not stupidity, it’s naivety. It’s purely that Andre has reacted just as Fatawu wanted him too. I don’t think the push was hard enough to knock him over but he’s gone down and the referee has no choice but to give a second yellow.”

Issahaku was substituted in the 83rd minute and fellow Black Stars players Albert Adomah played 87 minutes for Queens Park Rangers.

Ainsworth has since been sacked from his role as QPR manager.
