Black Stars head coach, Chris Hughton, has described upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Madagascar and Comoros as games the Black Stars “must do well” in.

He said this in an interview with BBC ahead of the Madagascar and Comoros tied on November 17 and 21 respectively. The tie against Madagascar will be played at the Baba Yara Stadium.

While pointing out that it is practically impossible to get the best results always from Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team, the former Brighton and Hove Albion manager highlighted the importance of the upcoming games. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

“It’s for me as coach to learn from our players’ performances and how we can improve, because ultimately you’re now playing competition games – two World Cup qualifiers.”

“They’re two games that we must do well in. Ultimately, I will work as hard as I always do to try to get things the best way that we can.”

Following back to back losses to Mexico and USA last month the heat on Hughton has turned up markedly and earlier today, the veteran coach met the Ghana Football Association Executive Council to discuss his future as head coach of the Black Stars.

Thomas Partey (5) will miss both games due to a muscle injury

Reports heavily suggest he will stay on in his role with the four time African champions.
