Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku has made a passionate call to Ghanaians to support the Black Stars.
Speaking ahead of the start of the competition on January 13 in Cote D’Ivoire, the GFA President made the call on the sidelines of the official announcement of the Black Stars 27 man squad to compete in the tournament.
The absence of Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey and PAOK full back Baba Rahman dominated the narratives about the squad named by Black Stars head Chris Hughton.
While acknowledging the poor run Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team has experienced in recent times, GFA President Kurt Okraku indicated that this is the best time to support the team.
“We all know that the performances of our dear team have not been too stable but this is the moment that the boys need our undiluted support.”
“When the times are very difficult, when the times are very unstable, those are the times they need your support, my support and the support of the entire country.”
Ghana is in Group B with Egypt, Mozambique and Cape Verde at the 2023 AFCON and heads into the tournament after crashing out at the group stage of the 2021 edition.
