Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kwesi Nyantakyi isn’t the biggest fan of a criterion for selecting the next Black Stars head coach that was communicated by the task force charged with naming a head trainer for Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team.

The task force led by GFA Vice President, Mark Addo, has been charged to name a new head coach for the Black Stars in 21 days after the sacking of Chris Hughton following the Black Stars poor run in the 2023 AFCON. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

The five man task force listed five criteria the next Black Stars coach must meet including having a 15 year coaching experience.

However, former GFA President Nyantakyi isn’t too enthused about this criterion since an extensive coaching experience doesn’t necessarily translate to success.

“It doesn’t guarantee success to raise the bar too high to say a person must have a 15 years experience to coach the Black Stars” he said to GTV Sports Plus.

Under Nyantakyi, the Black Stars qualified to three FIFA World Cups with the first being in 2006 in Germany.
