Coventry City Football Club manager Mark Robins has praised Ghana Black Stars striker Brandon Solomon Thomas-Asante for his standout traits that he believes will improve the team.

He described the 25 year old as a powerful, pacy player who has goal scoring pedigree in an interview with Coventry City media after the club signed the former West Bromwich Albion player to a four year deal for an undisclosed amount.

Thomas-Asante was set to join fellow EFL Championship side Hull City and was even spotted at Hull City’s home ground a few days before a last minute switch had him move to Coventry instead.

Coventry City assistant manager, George Boateng, was reportedly a key player in Thomas-Asante’s decision to ditch Hull City and pick Coventry.

Former Black Stars assistant coach Boateng joined Coventry earlier this offseason and his boss, Mark Robins had high praise for the English born Ghanaian player.

“We’re excited to welcome Brandon to Coventry City. He is a powerful and pacy striker who has goal scoring pedigree at this level plus a great attitude and work rate. Brandon can play across the frontline and will further strengthen our attacking options. We look forward to working with him at Coventry City.”
