Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club head coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, has dismissed suggestions that his side lost the midfield battle in a 1-1 draw with Basake Holy Stars at Ayinase.
The draw ended Kotoko’s three game winning run that had the Porcupine Warriors win by 1-0 score margins including victory over defending Ghana Premier League champions FC Samartex.
The game also marked the third game in a row Kotoko forward scored; his goal against Holy Stars marked the fourth time he found the back of the net.
Speaking in a post-game interview, Dr. Ogum pushed back on the assertion that his side lost the midfield battle particularly in midfield.
“We rather had control over the midfield and even had the more probability of scoring again in the second half…so I don’t think we lost the middle of the park in the second half.”
Kotoko rank second in the league standings after the draw and take on Legon Cities in an outstanding fixture on Wednesday, October 30 at the University of Ghana Stadium.
