Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou has given updates on their injury list after their Europa League clash with IF Elfsborg of Sweeden. Spurs left it late but managed to get the win in the end with 3 academy products getting on the scoresheet in a 3-0 win.

Speaking after the game Postecoglou commented on the returning Mickey van de Ven. Van de Ven had not played since picking up an injury on December 12th. The Dutch centre-back completed the first half before he was taken off. The head coach explained that this was planned, and he was doing fine.

“Yeah, the 3 half-time changes were all planned. All three are OK. It’s just like I said, we’ve got a big week coming up and just trying to manage our players. They’ve given everything they possibly can. Unfortunately, Radu (Drăgușin), he’s hurt his knee now. I don’t have any further information. I didn’t look at it as he was coming off. So, we just have to wait and see, but it’s disappointing. Mickey got through a fine, he was always going to play 45 and he felt fine. He’s a quality player, you could see already he’s got  a presence out there.”

He added that those yet to return are itching to make a difference:

“And like I said, with the injured guys, obviously we’ve got a few that have been long term, they just want to help. So, they’re coming in with a real positive energy. I think that helps the other boys. So hopefully over the next two weeks, we’ll get some more bodies back and it’ll certainly help us sort of inject some, some energy into the group.”

Spurs will hope to turn their Premier League form around when they face Brentford at the G-Tech Community Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
