The Ghana Wheelchair Tennis Men’s Team, consisting of Bernard Yawson and Daniel Laryea and led by official Kwabena Afriyie-Siaw, secured a bronze medal at the 2025 ITF BNP Paribas World Team Cup Africa Qualifiers in Rabat, Morocco.

The team clinched their victory with a decisive 3-0 win over Kenya during the closing ceremony. In the men’s event, Morocco took gold, while Egypt claimed silver.

Ghana’s Ambassador to Morocco, H.E. Mrs. Charity Gbedawo, joined the team at the ceremony and praised their achievement, noting that they had made both Ghana and themselves proud.

The Ghana Wheelchair Tennis Men’s Team expressed gratitude to the GTF Wheelchair Tennis Committee for their support, which included fundraising efforts from generous individuals in the Volta Region and sponsorship from Donewell Insurance.

National Coordinator Henry Larbi extended special thanks to Bridget Nartey, Stacy Konadu Mensah, and Coach Philip Plange for their dedication during a two-week residential training camp at the Sonrise SHS Tennis Court in Ho.

He also acknowledged the International Tennis Federation for providing a travel grant to the Ghana Tennis Federation, as well as the GTF Board for their unwavering support.
