Athletic Bilbao are through to the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League after a composed 2-0 win over Rangers, ending the Scottish side’s European journey.

In a high-stakes clash at the San Mamés Stadium, it was Bilbao’s young star Nico Williams who stole the show with a standout performance. The hosts broke the deadlock in first-half stoppage time through Oihan Sancet, who found the net with a well-placed strike after relentless pressure.

Rangers pushed for an equaliser in the second half, but their hopes were dashed in the 80th minute when Williams delivered a moment of pure quality; with a stunning header that sealed the coffin for Rangers

The Basque club continue their impressive run in Europe, and with Williams in such electric form, they’ll be a force to reckon with in the final four.
