Ghana forward Jordan Ayew scored in Leicester City’s 2-0 win over Southampton in the English Premier League at the King Power Stadium on Saturday, May 3. The win was Leicester’s first since January 26, 2025 via a 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspurs.

The 33 year old Black Stars captain scored the Foxes second goal in the 44th minute from a rebound off a free kick attempt he effected.

After seeing his attempt blocked, Ayew blasted the rebound that fell kindly to him into the net before wheeling away to celebrate his fifth goal of the 2024-2025 EPL season.

The veteran player was a surprise starter for the already relegated Leicester City team after struggling to get regular playing time under Leicester head coach Ruud Van Nistelrooy.

Ayew was substituted in the 70th minute and replaced with Jeremy Monga; Ayew has six goals and an assist in 32 games in all competitions.

Veteran English forward Jamie Vardy scored Leicester’s first goal in the 17th minute off an assist from Morocco international Bilal El Khanouss.

Fellow Black Stars player Kamaldeen Sulemana was shown a yellow card in the 52nd minute and got substituted in the 57th minute.
