Atalanta head coach Gianpiero Gasperini has stated the reasons behind Ghana midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana’s limited appearances for the club this season.
The Black Stars player has played just eight games in all competitions in the 2024-2025 season and has bagged just a goal.
Sulemana’s debut goal for Atalanta came in a 2-1 win over AS Roma in the Serie A to guarantee the club’s qualification to the UEFA Champions League.
Speaking in a post-game interview, Gasperini commended Sulemana for the stunning strike and went ahead to detail the reasons behind Suelmana’s limited appearances for the club.
“I didn’t get to use him [Sulemana] much mainly because we had some real heavy hitters in front of him but he’s earned it no question. I hope and I’m certain he’ll have plenty to smile about in the future” Gasperini said.

Sulemana’s stunning strike turned out to be the winning goal that ended Roma’s 19 game unbeaten run and stretch Atalanta’s lead over fourth ranked to seven points with two games remaining in the campaign. Scroll down to watch Sulemana’s stunning strike against AS Roma.
