Nations Football Club Brands Manager Kennedy Boakye Ansah has stated that it would be extremely suicidal if Nations FC forward Faisal Charwetey misses out on getting called to Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team-the Black Stars.
The Black Stars are scheduled to play against Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago and Nigeria in the four nation Unity Cup tournament from May 27 to May 31 in England.
With several notable players including Thomas Partey, Mohammed Kudus and Antoine Semenyo reportedly set to miss the competition, chances are high that new faces will be called up to the team.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports, Kennedy Boakye Ansah praised Charwetey’s addition to Nations FC and called on the Black Stars handlers to call the former Akatsi All Stars player to the national team.
“He’s proven on the local scene having scored 11 goals. It will be extremely suicidal that he wouldn’t have an opportunity to start for the Black Stars.”

“Nations FC’s Brands Manager and added that I might not be in the mind of [Black Stars] coach Otto Addo but I believe that…there is no doubt that Faisal Charwetey shouldn’t be a part of the squad for the Unity Cup. We would not put any pressure on Otto Addo but on fairness grounds, I think that Faisal should be a part of the Black Stars.”
