After being left out of Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Chad completely, AS Monaco defender Mohammed Salisu has returned to the starting line up for the Stars in the clash against Mali on Monday, September 9 at 19:00 GMT at the Accra Sports Stadium.
In Ghana’s disappointing 1-1 draw with Chad, Salisu lost the starters berth to Jonas Adjetey and Jerome Opoku. However, in the upcoming clash against Mali, Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has called up the former Southampton player to the starting backline in a three man unit alongside Alexander Djiku and Adjetey.
Salisu’s inclusion in the starting lineup is one of a handful of changes to the set up that played against Chad as Real Oviedo midfielder Kwasi Sibo gets his debut starting berth with the Stars.

27 year old Sibo got handed a late call up to the team due to an injury to Ibrahim Sulemana and the absence of Elisha Owusu due to an accumulation of yellow cards.

Villarreal midfielder and Ghana’s Deputy Captain Thomas Partey has been also included the starting lineup after missing the Chad game due to an illness.
