Chelsea Football Club head coach Enzo Maresca says his team has worked on defending long throw-ins better ahead of a crucial game this weekend in the English Premier League.
Chelsea take on Tottenham Hotspurs in the North London Derby on Saturday, November 1 at 17:30 GMT at the Tottenham Stadium. Chelsea have conceded the most shots from set pieces this season.
Speaking at a presser ahead of the big game, Maresca disclosed that his team has worked on defending set pieces including long throw-ins better on the back of conceding goals from similar instances in the team’s 4-3 win over Wolves in the Carabao Cup and a 2-1 loss to Sunderland in the English Premier League.
“We are working on that [throw-ins]. For sure we are working. For sure.”

“Set-pieces you are going to score goals and you are going to concede goals…because there are actions that are so difficult to defend” Maresca said.

Tottenham rank third in the league standings while Chelsea rank ninth ahead of the game.
