Nashville Sporting Club Maxwell Woledzi says his desire to play for Ghana’s National Men’s Football Team, the Black Stars, has always been there.
He made this revelation in an exclusive interview with Citi Sports in the wake of his move from Norwegian club Fredrikstad FK to MLS side Nashville SC.
Woledzi starred for Fredrikstad before sealing the three year move to Nashville and the defender, who is one of the highly rated fast rising Ghanaian players but yet to play for the Black Stars, says the his desire to play for the team has been apparent right from the jump.
“I’ve been wanting to play for the Black Stars since I was in Nordsjaelland so it’s not something new but I just have to make sure that in my club I give my best and do what I have to do for the people in charge to see who I am.”

“Everyone is hoping to play for the national team and if you play for the national team, is a proud moment for you and your family” Woledzi said.

The Black Stars will compete in the 2026 FIFA World Cup and have been drawn in Group L with England, Croatia and Panama. Scroll down to watch Maxwell Woledzi interview
