Boston Celtics small forward Jayson Tatum has downright mocked the Memphis Grizzlies’ lack of success by stating that he would have a statue built for him with the NBA career he has had.

In an appearance on the Pivot Podcast, Tatum talked extensively about the pressure that comes with playing for the Boston Celtics.

Tatum spoke about dealing with the Achilles injury that has forced him to miss out on competing this season with a strong chance of missing the season entirely but zeroed in on what life is like playing for the Boston Celtics.

“The career I have right now, if I had it with the [Memphis] Grizzlies, I would have a statue outside the arena but now I’m chasing people like Larry Bird where the standard is so much higher and it’s like you don’t want to be the great player with the Celtics, where you’re the one guy that didn’t win” Tatum said.
