For the fourth year in a row, Aryna Sabalenka will compete in the Australian Open Final after sealing progression to the big game in the 2026 edition of the tournament.

Sabalenka in the process becomes the first player since Martina Hingis to reach four Australian open Finals in a row.

The Belarussian beat Elina Svitolina 6-2, 6-3 in straight sets in the semifinals played earlier on Thursday, January 29. Svitolina beat Coco Gauff in the quarterfinals to make the semis.

“I cannot believe that” Sabalenka said after matching Hingis’ record, the four time tennis grand slam champion added that “It is an incredible achievement but the job is not done yet.”

“Super happy with the win…super happy to be through this tough match. I’m glad that the level was there today. I played great tennis.”

Sabalenka is aiming to win the Australian open title for the third time; she lost the 2025 final to Madison Keys.
