President of Africa’s football governing body (CAF), Patrice Motsepe, has doubled down on his anti-corruption stance on his latest official visit on the continent.

Patrice Motsepe arrived in Morocco for talks with the North African nation’s Football Federation a day after visiting Senegal amid serious tension between the two nations over the fallout of the 2025 AFCON Final and the subsequent decision by CAF’s Appeal Board to hand the title to Morocco after declaring that winners Senegal forfeited the game after walking off the pitch to protest against a penalty decision.

Senegal have appealed the decision at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). Speaking at a presser on his visit to Morocco, Patrice Motsepe reaffirmed his anti-corruption committment by stating,

“Despite the challenges in the final, the 2025 AFCON was the most successful tournament. The security, logistics, airports, hotels, football pitches and hospitals were all top-notch.”
