Ghana Athletics has formalised a strategic partnership with Peeva Beverages, signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to name the company as the Official Beverage Partner for the upcoming African Athletics Championships, Accra 2026.

The championships are scheduled to take place in Accra from May 12 to 17, 2026.

The signing ceremony, held at the premises of Peeva Beverages, marks a key milestone in preparations for the continental showpiece.

The agreement positions both organisations to play central roles in delivering a world-class event in Accra.

Under the terms of the partnership, Ghana Athletics and Peeva Beverages will work together to provide high-quality hydration and refreshment for athletes, officials, and spectators throughout the championship.

The collaboration underscores a shared commitment to excellence, athlete performance, and the continued growth of athletics across Africa.

Speaking at the ceremony, the President of the Ghana Athletics, Bawah Fuseini, emphasised the importance of private sector support in successfully hosting a competition of this scale.

He noted that partnerships of this nature are vital to strengthening operational delivery and ensuring athlete welfare.

Getting this sponsorship in Ghana at this time is extremely difficult, because at this time, when we are in the World Cup period, where every corporate body is moving towards football, and thank God Peeva is moving towards athletics, is a very huge relief, he said.

And now what it means is that, we are not going to buy water during the competition and athletes are going to be given enough water and beverages during the event.

Peeva Beverages also expressed pride in supporting Ghana Athletics and contributing to what is expected to be a landmark event on the African sporting calendar.

The company reaffirmed its commitment to quality and innovation, aligning its brand with the values of strength, endurance, and peak performance that define athletics.

The African Senior Athletics Championships, Accra 2026, is expected to attract elite athletes from across the continent, further reinforcing Ghana’s growing reputation as a hub for international sporting excellence.
With preparations intensifying, Ghana Athletics continues to build strong institutional partnerships aimed at delivering a memorable and impactful championship.
