Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner is set to leave the London club at the end of the 2025-2026 season but the German coach is trekking towards ending his tenure in grand style after leading Palace to the club’s first ever final in any European competition.

Palace beat Ukrainian side Shaktar Donetsk 2-1 at Selhurst Park in the second leg of their Europa Conference League semifinal clash to qualify to the final via a 5-2 win on aggregate. Senegal international Ismaïla Sarr scored in both legs for Palace.

Glasner already made history with Palace by leading the club to win the Emirates FA Cup last season and the Community Shield.

Both trophies were Palace’s only major trophy triumphs and on May 27, Palace take on Spanish side Rayo Vallecano with the chance to win the club’s first European trophy and Glasner described the feat as massive.

“It’s my fourth consecutive final in my fourth consecutive full season; Europa League German Cup (both with Frankfurt), FA Cup and now this. It’s massive for me personally. We have three weeks to prepare and analyse Rayo Vallecano, a very good team.”

“It will be fantastic. You always want your last game to be for something, for silverware. I promise that we will give everything we have to bring it back to Selhurst” Glasner said to TNT Sports.
