The former Brighton and Hove Albion was the biggest name to miss out on getting picked by Carlo Ancelotti.
Pedro’s teammate at Chelsea, Andrey Santos and veteran defender Thiago Silva were among players who didn’t make the cut.
Despite excelling this season for Chelsea with 20 goals and nine assists in 49 games in all competitions at the time of writing, Pedro won’t feature at the World Cup.
He missed out on a place in the team to veteran forward Neymar Jr. of Santos who has six goals and four assists in 15 games in all competitions. After the announcement, Pedro stated,

“I tried to give my best at all times. Unfortunately, it wasn’t possible to fulfill this dream of representing my country in a World Cup, but I remain calm and focused, as I always try to be”.

“Joys and frustrations are part of football. From now on, I wish good luck to everyone who is there and I will be just another fan cheering for them to bring the sixth title home.”
