Nations Football Club head coach Stephen Frimpong Manso says his club’s triumph in the 2025-2026 MTN FA Cup competition was to compensate the team’s management and fans after the club got relegated from the Ghana Premier League.

After finishing 16th in the recently ended league season, Nations FC got relegated to the Access Bank Division One League but ended the campaign on a high note after beating Dreams FC 5-4 in a penalty shootout following a 1-1 draw after regulation time and extra time.

By winning the FA Cup, Nations will represent Ghana in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup marking the second straight year head coach Frimpong Manso has qualified a team to a continental competition after leading Bibiani Gold Stars to the Champions League via winning the Ghana League.

“It’s a great feeling (to win the league last season and to win the FA Cup this season)….for me, it’s very good, it doesn’t matter what has happened.”

“We needed to compensate the management and also our fans…they were all determined to play for this game.”

“We had to win this game other than that it would have been very bad for us” Frimpong Manso said.
