Real Madrid have ended months of speculation over Vinicius Jr.’s future by handing the Brazil winger a contract extension until 2032.
The new deal was announced on Thursday, August 6, after reports had linked the 26-year-old with a move to Premier League champions Arsenal.
“Vinicius Jr. has become one of the most important players in one of the most successful periods in our history” a section of the club’s statement read.
Vinicius joined Real Madrid from Brazilian side Fluminense as an 18-year-old and has developed into one of the club’s key players. During his eight seasons in Madrid, he has won two UEFA Champions League titles, three La Liga crowns, the Copa del Rey, and three FIFA Club World Cups.

He heads into the 2026-2027 campaign after starring for Brazil at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he scored four goals in five matches.
The upcoming season will also be Vinicius’ first under newly appointed head coach Jose Mourinho. His contract extension was announced on the same day Real Madrid completed the signing of Côte d’Ivoire winger Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig in a deal reportedly worth €125 million, with a further €15 million in add-ons.
