He said this in his speech delivered during the 2026 GFA Ordinary Congress held at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence.
Kurt Okraku announced the package that was worth $38,000 in the presence of Minister of Sports and Recreation Kofi Adams who headlined the event.
The award comes on the back of Asare starring at the 2026 FIFA World Cup with the Black Stars as Ghana progressed beyond the knockout stage for the first time since 2010.
The 33 year old was the only representative of the Ghana Premier League in the Black Stars World Cup squad and featured in three of Ghana’s four games in the tournament.

Asare was the only goalkeeper to avoid conceding a goal against bronze medal winners England in the competition.
Former Accra Great Olympics keeper Asare is set to feature as Hearts of Oak’s starting goalkeeper in the 2026-2027 season.
