Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has praised Jordan Ayew’s debut despite the Blades’ 1-0 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the EFL Championship.
The 35-year-old joined Sheffield United as a free agent and came off the bench in the 64th minute for his first appearance.
Ayew completed three of five passes, attempted one shot and made two defensive contributions. He also won three of nine ground duels during his 26-minute outing.
Despite the defeat, Wilder was impressed by the experience Ayew brought to the team. The Black Stars captain is expected to play a key role for Sheffield United as they continue their Championship campaign.

“We got for me a really experienced player and he showed his experience, he showed his quality, he showed his attitude and Jordan will be better for that…good contributions” Wilder said.

Joining Sheffield marked Jordan Ayew’s latest stop in England in his career after playing for Leicester City, Crystal Palace and Aston Villa.
