Manchester City will host Brighton & Hove Albion in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup after both sides won their third-round ties.
City booked their place in the last 16 with a commanding 5-0 win over Norwich City at the Etihad Stadium on Thursday, September 17.
17-year-old Floyd Samba scored twice on his senior debut, while Rayan Cherki, Allan and Ryan McAidoo were also on target.
Samba opened the scoring in the 29th minute before Cherki doubled City’s lead three minutes later. Allan made it 3-0 shortly after half-time, Samba added his second in the 54th minute, and McAidoo completed the scoring in the 90th minute.
Manchester City dominated with 65.9% possession and recorded 14 shots to Norwich’s four, including six on target. Norwich failed to register a shot on target. City also completed 708 passes at 93% accuracy, compared to Norwich’s 314 passes at 81.6%.
Brighton secured their place in the fourth round with a 3-2 comeback win over Manchester United at Old Trafford on Wednesday.
The Seagulls came from two goals down, with Charalampos Kostoulas, Pascal Gross and Maxim De Cuyper scoring to send United out of the competition.
The fourth-round ties will be played in the week commencing October 26, with City hosting Brighton at the Etihad Stadium.
