Ghana defender Mohammed Salisu has described his return to competitive action after an eight-month layoff with an ACL injury as an “amazing feeling”.(Scroll down to watch video)
Salisu made a cameo appearance in AS Monaco’s 2-1 win over RC Lens in the French Ligue 1, helping the club maintain its unbeaten start to the 2026/27 season. Monaco recorded their fourth win in five games, with Salisu coming off the bench in the second half.
Despite his limited time on the pitch, the Black Stars defender made two clearances before describing his emotions after the game.
“Amazing feeling. It’s been a long time, it’s been a hard time and I think I’m happy to be back and I hope I will get more minutes. It’s a big step for me; even to get a few minutes to play, it’s an amazing feeling.”

Salisu missed out on Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup due to the injury and was also not included in the Black Stars squad for 2027 AFCON qualifiers later this month.
