Black Stars forward Antoine Semenyo has reportedly withdrawn from Ghana’s squad ahead of the team’s opening 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Semenyo is reported to have pulled out of the squad after picking up an injury.
The Manchester City forward is understood to require time for further recovery and medical assessment, adding his name to a growing list of players affected by injuries ahead of the international window.
Semenyo has made a strong start to the 2026/27 season for Manchester City, recording two goals and three assists in seven appearances across all competitions.
He has featured five times in the Premier League, scoring twice and providing three assists, while also making appearances in the UEFA Champions League and FA Community Shield.
Ghana are preparing for their opening 2027 AFCON qualifying fixtures, with head coach Carlos Queiroz already forced to make changes to his squad because of injuries and withdrawals.
There has been no further official information on the severity of Semenyo’s injury or whether he could return to the squad later in the international window.
