Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe has called on Kurt Okraku to resign from his role as president of the football body.
He made this comment on Citi FM’s Eyewitness News as calls continue to grow for the Kurt Okraku-led GFA to be dissolved due to poor returns.
Under Kurt Okraku, Ghana has exited the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) twice at the group stage and failed to qualify for the 2025 AFCON.
The Black Stars’ qualification chances to the 2027 AFCON have come under serious threat following two losses in two games against Côte d’Ivoire and The Gambia; Ghana lost 4-2 at home to The Gambia.
Speaking on the issue, Dr Nyaho-Tamakloe, who stepped down as the GFA Chairman (now President), called on Kurt Okraku to do the same.
“If he feels that he has failed and he has the culture of resignation, then nobody will tell him he will resign by himself as I did when I was there.”
“If he is not coming up with good results, that’s why I use the word culture of resignation, there are certain things you don’t force on people.”
“Either you do it and then one will know exactly that this man is principled…he should just quit like others have done in the past” Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe said.
