Netherlands head coach Xavi Hernandez has called for improvement from his players despite making an unbeaten start to his international coaching career.
Xavi has overseen two wins and two draws in his first four games in charge, all in the UEFA Nations League.
The Netherlands ended the international break with a 2-1 win over Serbia, with Manchester United striker Joshua Zirkzee scoring the decisive goal.
Speaking after the victory, Xavi praised his players for adapting to different formations during the game but believes there is still plenty of room for improvement.
“When we switched to a different formation, things got better. We now know how to dominate games in different ways but we also know how to defend at times in a low block or a mid-block.”

“In terms of our core values, I’m very satisfied. The players are wonderful people but in footballing terms, we need to improve in all sorts of areas.”

“The most important thing is that we score one more than the opponent, but we want a clean sheet. That takes time” Xavi said.
