Ghana’s Black Meteors will face Libya in the second qualifying round of the TotalEnergies CAF U-23 Africa Cup of Nations Egypt 2027 qualifiers.
The two sides will meet over two legs between November 9 and 17, 2026, with Ghana travelling to Libya for the first leg before hosting the return fixture.
Libya advanced to the second round after beating Togo 4-1 on aggregate in the preliminary round. The Libyans drew 1-1 with Togo in Lomé before securing a 3-0 victory at home to progress.
Ghana received a bye into the second round and will now begin their qualification campaign against Libya. The winner on aggregate will advance to the final qualifying round, where they will face either Equatorial Guinea or Niger.
The final qualifying round is scheduled for March 22 to 30, 2027. The three-round qualification process will produce the seven teams that will join hosts Egypt at the eight-team U-23 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
Qualification for the tournament would also keep alive Ghana’s hopes of returning to the Olympic Games, with the Black Meteors last featuring at the men’s Olympic football tournament at Athens 2004.
