Medeama SC moved a point clear at the top of the Ghana Premier League after securing a 1-0 victory over Swedru All Blacks at the TnA Stadium on Sunday.
Kingsley Braye scored the decisive goal in the 38th minute to hand the defending champions all three points in a closely contested encounter.
The Mauve and Yellow enjoyed long spells of possession but struggled to break down a well-organised Swedru All Blacks defence, with the visitors putting up a determined fight.
Braye eventually provided the breakthrough shortly before half-time, finishing in the 38th minute to give Medeama a lead they would protect until the final whistle.
The hosts were unable to add to their advantage after the break, but their defensive discipline ensured they held on for another important home victory.
The result takes Medeama to 21 points from 10 matches, giving them a one-point lead at the top of the standings and strengthening their title defence.
The Tarkwa-based side also maintained their unbeaten home record at the TnA Stadium this season.
Swedru All Blacks remain on 14 points from 10 matches following the defeat, missing out on an opportunity to take something from their trip to Tarkwa.
