“Hearts’ players are old men who should be playing golf and tennis.” – Smith

Karela United manager, Johnson Smith, has labeled Hearts of Oak’s players as “grown ups who should be playing lawn tennis and golf and not football,” after his side beat the Phobians 3-1 in their Ghana Premier League Match Day 8 encounter at the CAM Park in Aiyinase on Wednesday.

Captain William Opoku Mensah’s hat-trick completed a comeback for the new boys after going down 1-0 to Daniel Kordie’s strike in the first half.

“I told my players that Hearts of Oak players are grown ups so they should go and play well against them and they did exactly what I told them that’s why we beat them,” Smith told Kumasi-based Metro FM.
-“Hearts of Oak players are grown ups and a player who is 30-35 years should be playing lawn tennis and golf and not football because football nowadays is for the youth.
“I am done with Hearts of Oak and we are focusing on our next game.”
Karela next host Elmina Sharks in a match week 9 encounter this Sunday.
