MTN FA Cup Awards: Cobbinah wins best player, Polack wins best coach

Hearts of Oak midfielder Winful Cobbinah has been adjudged the best player of the 2016-17 Ghana FA Cup campaign at the MTN FA Cup Awards Night held at the M Plaza Hotel in Accra on Thursday night.

The 26 year old pipped Asante Kotoko striker Sadick Adams and Isaac Amoah of Amidaus Professionals to the coveted prize after his exploits helped the phobians to their first cup final since the competition was revamped in 2011.

Asante Kotoko coach Steve Polack who was sacked after the club’s dismal performance in the CAF Confederation Cup was named the best manager of the season while Sadick shared the golden boot award with Okyeman Planners’ Raphael Ocloo.

The event was also used to reveal the draw for the preliminary round draw of the competition, pitching 48 division one and and division two clubs against each other on a regional basis.
