“Wa All Stars win is huge boost for Hearts clash”- Akakpo Patron

Asante Kotoko assistant head coach, Akakpo Patron, says the team’s 2-0 on the road against Wa All Stars in Week 9 of the league has given them a huge lift ahead of their match with rivals Hearts of Oak on Sunday in Kumasi.

Before the match, the Reds had lost 1-0 to Dreams FC and drawn 1-1 with Berekum Chelsea in their last two league games but they managed to play out a solid performance in Wa to get the victory.

According to Patron, the team’s confidence has risen after that result and it provides a good atmosphere as they get ready to play against Hearts of Oak.

“The result was huge motivation because we knew that we had to play against Hearts this Sunday and so, we had to get a good result on the road.

That has lifted the team’s spirit and the vibe around the team is a good one. I believe that the result is a huge boost for the match against Hearts of Oak.”

For Kotoko, victory will lift them to 17 points and a possible top place on the league log depending on the results from the matches played AshantiGold (against Medeama) and Dreams FC (against WAFA).
