Felix Addo’s late equalizer for Elmina Sharks ensured they shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw with Berekum Chelsea in their outstanding Ghana Premier League tie at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Berekum Chelsea took the lead in the 8th minute through in-form forward Stephen Amankona who finished off a lovely team move.
Chelsea went in search for a second and went close on a couple of occasions late in the half, but the Elmina Sharks defense remained resolute.
Sharks dominated the second half despite being reduced to 10-men after Edward Ebo Mends was shown a second yellow minutes after the restart.
The Elmina based side were however rewarded in the 72nd minute through a fine strike from Felix Addo, and could’ve taken the lead in the final minutes of the game, but for quality defensive work from Chelsea.
Sharks were dealt a further blow when Mohammed Ismaila got sent off with 4 minutes to play after only coming on as a second half substitute.
The results lifts Chelsea a further two points away from the relegation zone, with Sharks moving up to 6th.
