“I thank God we only conceded 3 goals to Karela” – Kotoko coach Fabin

Asante Kotoko coach Paa Kwesi Fabin is singing praises to God despite Asante Kotoko’s embarrassing loss to newly-promoted Karela United.

The record Ghana Premier League side were picked apart 3-1 at the CAM Park in Aiyinase, home of the Karela. Goals from Moro Ibrahim, Abdul Ganiu Ishmael and Maxwell Baakoh condemned the Porcupine Warriors to their 5th defeat of the season that’s only 11 matches old.

Karela were so dominant, it could have ended up more embarrassing for Kotoko but for the splendid performance of goalkeeper Felix Annan; an observation that was not lost on Fabin.

“They scored two goals in the first half and scored one in the second half, if not for the brilliance of our goalkeeper, they would have scored more”, he said.

“So we thank God we lost by three goals to one,” Fabin told the media after the game.

Kotoko next host Bechem United as Paa Kwesi Fabin’s job hangs by the thread.
