Ghana;s Kwadwo Asamoah has confirmed that he will leave Juventus at the end of the current Serie A season.

His decision was carried in a statement shared on his Twitter handle early Friday morning.

There had been huge speculation concerning the player’s future and some reports had gone ahead to state that he was leaving the club to join Inter Milan on a free transfer.

Asamoah denied the reports but the announcement will only heighten the rumours as he stated that he had “opted to commit himself to a club elsewhere” and that it would be “unbearably austere to play against Juventus”.

The Ghanaian international also thanked the fans and management of Juventus for their support during the period of his persistent knee injuries.

In 2014, he suffered a serious one and experienced some minor ones after that leading him to put his international career on hold between then and now.

Asamoah is expected to play his last match for Juventus on Saturday when they face Verona in the season finale.
