Kumasi Asante Kotoko has parted ways with deputy captain Eric Donkor and four other players, days after the second round of the Ghana football transfer window opened.
Four other players have also been shown the exit door from the Kumasi-based club.
Baba Mahama, who signed from Techiman City 2 years ago has been let go while Edwin Tuffour Frimpong, Frank Sarfo Gyamfi, and Yakubu Mohammed have all been released.
Two players; striker Sadick Adams and midfielder Seth Opare have been put on transfer and told they are no longer part of the club’s plans.
Sadick joined the club in May 2017 and scored a hat-trick against Hearts of Oak as Kotoko beat their rivals 3-1 to lift the 2017 MTN FA Cup.
Donkor joined Kotoko from Windy Professionals in 2011 and leaves after spending 7 years at Kotoko where he won 3 league titles and 2 FA cup crowns.
Sadick and Donkor both took to twitter to confirm the news, albeit Sadick’s tweet is a cheeky one.
