Owner of Elmina Sharks FC, Dr. Papa Kwesi Ndoum, has been included in Ghana’s delegation to meet with world football governing body, FIFA, in Zurich on Thursday to discuss proposed reforms in the running of football in Ghana.

Ndoum’s inclusion was announced in a letter signed by FIFA official Veron Mosengo-Omba and addressed to the Ghana Football Association on Tuesday.

Ghana and FIFA met last Friday in Accra to discuss the way forward for Ghana football after a court injunction froze all football activities in the wake of allegations of corruption revealed in the exposé done by journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

Dr. Ndoum  and Nana Sam Brew-Butler, who runs Ebusua Dwarfs, have been stated as representatives of the elite league clubs since they have complained of being the hardest hit by the court injunction especially in terms of finances.

However, Citi Sports checks reveal that officially GHALCA is yet give its approval and support to these two men.

Club owners , though, are expected to unanimously back the addition of Dr. Ndoum and Mr. Brew-Butler to the delegation to FIFA. The owners will meet on Tuesday to discuss matters of concern to them in the current climate of football in Ghana.

Sources say that Ndoum and Butler are expected to propose the setting up of an independent league management body in Ghana as part of the reforms.

What else does the letter say?

The letter from FIFA states that Messrs Kweku Eyiah and Alex Asante of the Ghana Football Association will be present at the meeting in Zurich.

This brings clarity to several reports and statements hinting at the non-inclusion of the gentlemen in the discussions.

Asante was not allowed to head out of the country last week based on a High Court injunction that froze all football-related-activities and barred officials of the Ghana Football Association from carrying out their duties.

The injunction, which was effective over a ten-day period, elapsed on Friday, June 22.

FIFA, in the letter, said that all talks with Ghana would be aimed at the resumption of football activities in the country.
