Black Stars midfielder Thomas Partey has called on government and the Ghana Football Association to resolve the current standoff between them in order for football to return to the country.

Football activities in the country have been suspended after many top football officials, including former GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi, were implicated in Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ exposé on corruption in football.

The exposé also led to government taking steps to dissolve the GFA, with the aim of sanitizing Ghana Football their primary reason for their actions.

However Partey, who was voted Footballer of the Year at the maiden Ghana Football Awards, wants the parties involved to find a quick solution to the crisis, as the current situation in his view is having a negative impact on the Black Stars.

“They should try and find a solution to it because we need most of the players, and the league helps in getting players to the Black Stars.

The players also have to be paid by the clubs so they should try and find a solution to it,” he told reporters at the Ghana Football Awards.

The High Court will today [Monday] hear a substantive application by the Attorney General seeking an interlocutory injunction on Executives of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) from performing their duties.

This new application follows the expiration of the 10-day injunction secured by the government in the High court on the 12th of June.
