Janet Amponsah is gunning for another medal after easing her way to Sunday’s final in front of a capacity crowd at the Stephen Keshi stadium in Asaba, Nigeria.

Amponsah, who won silver in the 100m on Thursday, barely broke a sweat on her way to first position in her semi final, stopping the clock at 23.55sec.

Compatriot, Hor Halutie, also made it to the final as the fastest loser in semi final one, crossing the line in 3rd position (23.71sec) behind favorite Marie Josee Ta Lou of Cote d’Ivoire (23.34) and Gina Bass of Gambia(23.65).

The 200m women’s final is at 15:45 local time.

Meanwhile, Abigail Kwarteng will take to the field at 15:05 to compete in the women’s high jump.

At a jump of 1.87m, Kwarteng currently holds the national record in the high jump event.
