Ghana and Royal Antwerp defender, Daniel Opare, has described Kwadwo Asamoah as an integral part of the Black Stars in the build up to the 2019 AFCON qualifier against Kenya.

Following a four-year absence which dates back to the Brazil 2014 World Cup, the versatile Asamoah, who now plays for Inter Milan, is set to make his much-anticipated return.

It remains unclear what role the returning Asamoah will be deployed in but Opare believes the former Udinese player greatly improves the quality of the team no matter where coach Kwesi Appiah uses him against Kenya and inn future assignments.

“I know Kwadwo from way back and he is a fantastic player. His return will have a great impact on the team.

We are happy to welcome him back and he is one of the most important players in team. He is one of the senior players and so, to have him back is good.”

Earlier this week, Asamoah gave the team’s technical team and fans a fright when he limped out of one of the team’s training sessions in Ethiopia but he returned the next day to play and he is expected to get a starting role in the match against Kenya which will be played on Saturday in Nairobi.
