Black Stars head coach Kwesi Appiah has handed a call up to captain Asamoah Gyan for the upcoming double header against Sierra Leone in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

But there is no place for Andre and Jordan Ayew, who are left out of Appiah’s 23-man squad yet again.

Red Star Belgrade striker Richmond Boakye Yiadom, Jonathan Mensah, Mubarak Wakaso, Bernard Mensah and Thomas Agyepong also make a return to the team after being excluded from the squad for last month’s defeat to Kenya.

There was also a debut call up for Kumasi Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Felix Annan, who is the only home-based player in the squad.

Ghana host Sierra Leone in Kumasi on Thursday October 11 before making the short trip to Freetown to play the Leone Stars on Monday October 15.
