Black Maidens players, Mukarama Abdulai and Suzzy Teye, have a goal each in the final ten nominations for the best goal of the 2018 FIFA Women’s U-17 World Cup tournament in Uruguay.

The top ten goals were taken from the 86 scored in the 32 matches played in the tournament.

Abdulai’s 3rd goal against Uruguay in the opening Group A match- a poked finish into the top corner that was preceded by swiveling past a defender- made the shortlist while Teye’s goal against Mexico- a strike set up by knocking the ball past a Mexican defender after receiving a cross-field pass- was also nominated.

New Zealand’s Amelia Abbot and Kelli Brown, Maria Eduarda of Brazil, Sunshine Fontes, Lara Kazandijan of Canada, Momoka Kinoshita of Japan, Irene Lopez of Spain and Uruguay’s Esperanza Pizarro all have goals in the final shortlist.

The goals were published by FIFA on its website and fans can go there to watch and vote for their favourite goals. The voting ends at 11 am of December 10.
