U-23 Qualifiers: Togo hit Kumasi for Meteors clash

Togo made their way into Kumasi late Sunday afternoon for their 2019 Under-23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier with Ghana’s Black Meteors.

The match scheduled for the Baba Yara Stadium on Tuesday December 18 is the first leg of an outstanding first round fixture in the qualifiers to Egypt 2019. It was originally fixed to be honoured in November but both countries wrote to Caf for postponement to December.

Togo coach Jean Paul Abalo selected 18 players for the short trip into neighbouring Ghana.  Among the squad are 19-year-old Atik Fousseni Traoré who plays for French side Montpellier and 21-year-old midfielder Victor Mensah.

Togo squad:

SOUMANOU Fadil, TOUDJI Messan, DJOYAGBO Kodjovi, YENOUSSI Guillaume, BOKO Marco, MENSAH Victor, KLIDJE Thibault, FOUSSENI Atik, BALGOU Yendoutien, AHORO Jarry, NYAVEDJI Elom, ANIKA Kossi, WOGODO Thomas, AIGBA Abdoul-Moubarak, AGBADJI Komi, SOGBA Bernard, AMAH Kamaloudine, AKORO Bilali.

The team will hold a mandatory training exercise at the match venue, Baba Yara Sports Stadium from 15:30 GMT on Monday.

Togo will host the second leg in Lome on Saturday, December 22.
