In Ghana’s first high profile marriage of 2019, national team footballers David Accam and Florence Dadson have tied the knot in a unique football union.

Their union was made official in a ceremony that saw close friends and family in attendance on Thursday afternoon.

They are expected to have their white wedding this coming Saturday.

Both footballers are based in the United States of America and had been dating for about a year.

David Accam, a foward, plays for Philadelphia Union in Major League Soccer (MLS) and has also featured for the Black Stars nine times, after receiving his first call-up to the Ghana national team for a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualification match against Sudan on 24 March 2013.

He made his international debut for Ghana in 2015 for an African Cup of Nations qualifier against Uganda.

Florence Dadson is also an attacker and has represented Ghana at both U-17 and U-20 levels.

Dadson played for Ghana at the 2008 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup and 2012 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

She left Ghana in September 2011 after she gained admission to the Robert Morris University in Illinois to study Business Administration.

She played for the school’s teams till she graduated in 2014 where she joined  W-League club Gulf Coast Texans.
